In 1959, when the Communist China occupied Tibet, thousands of Tibetans demonstrated on this particular day agains the Chinese occupation which led His Holiness the Dalai Lama to flee Tibet and seek refugee in India. Presently in Tibet, China dispersed thousands of armed forces in Tibet in fear of yet another demonstration by Tibetans which earlier happened last year.
