You could try GIMPshop. it's free (open source) and does most of what photoshop does with a similar layout to photoshop. You can get hold of pirate copies of Adobe software, but I wouldn't recommend it because there's a high chance of getting trojans and other nasties installed on your pc. If you REALLY REALLY REALLY need photoshop and can't stretch to paying for the current version, look on ebay and see if someone's selling a copy of an older version.

I would strongly recommend downloading GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Project) and using it.  I cannot afford PS either and have used GIMP with great success.  It's free and easy to use, and does everything PS does, without the cost.

There are other free programs out there, such as Paint.net.  Not as robust as GIMP or PS, but does a good job nonetheless.

For the latest version of GIMP go to their website to download the software.  You can find it at www.gimp.org

I would NOT under ANY circumstances try to find a pirated copy of Photoshop.... it's not worth it.

Photoscape is better than GIMP and it is free.

Another great free program is Raw Therapee. Not just for Raw files, download this and try for yourself. Top quality software.

A picture taken straight from the camera with the cameras capability in it's settings, is the certainly the best shots out there, but if you don't have one of "those" kind of cameras, then photoshop is a great asset. Also if you take photos that where your subject is flushed out by all of the surrounding people etc. then using photoshop helps to you to be able to focus on the intended subject... Photoshop can be fun, but I think that it should be used in the right prospective. For me art it art and thats fine, but when you take a photo and add loads of photo art to it, then the photography part of the photo is lost., I love real photography in the way of simple photos, even photos from back in the 1800s are beautiful. Here is another free photo art program.
