This was one of those "once in a life time" shots for me.... lastnight I looked at the sun as it was setting, and the beam was just amazing, definately nothing I've ever seen before :D

I saw this once at sunrise, very distinctive pillar of pink light... but only once, in my 20 plus years of watching the skies :) R10

You've captured a very rare moment. This display of sunlight is called a sun pillar and they can only be seen when the last of the sun's disc finally dips below the horizon. Well done.
