PolarBear 10/14/2007 4:13:03 PM	Wow. Some of you people need to get real. This is far from a technically perfect image, but rating it "1" because you don't like the subject is ridiculous. The way the image has been taken looks almost like a mug shot - only, the subject remains anonymous by hiding behind the hood. This cowardice is the root of the evil in the KKK - you can do what you want and never be caught or judged. A knee-jerk reaction screaming take it off the site is idiotic. Look at this person's other pictures. They have posted this for the reaction it provokes, and if it provoked a reaction it did its job and therefore cannot be rated a 1.

But the subject matter is evoking a lot of emotion. hmmm, I agree, it looks like a scan, perhaps of a negative. what ever. History? Folks this is not history, this is a reality today. Without awareness it will continue. I thank the photographer for posting it journalisticly, and edjucationally, but try to do a better job on the image next time. It looks like a mug shot. Hopefully it is one.

Maybe we should be reminded of the past!We can not forget what happend,thats how we go forward to look back and see what we did wrong. Very good reminder. R10
mandysmother SE Michigan 8/5/2007 4:36:01 PM	Personally, I find the KKK and what they do and stand for - repulsive. Now to the photo ..... There is nothing offensive about the shot just the subject matter. But it is not very well taken. Is it a scan? There are hot spots and it is very grainy. The cropping is not very good either. Your comments on the shot are also contradictory. From what others have said, I doubt that you will try to improve the shot and reupload. I feel that it is the perogative of every member on this site to upload their images as long as they comply with the site rules. You should however submit a well composed shot!!!
saharris Gibsons 8/5/2007 1:04:35 PM	For me this photo represents a not so proud history of what was and may still be in the hearts of some and still lurking in shadows. Lest we forget. Mono adds to the drama, enhancing shadow and light. Not a pleasant photo but an accurate account of what was. Good photo journalism.
