Visually stunning. Love the subtle shadings of peach & mauve in the water, and the richly colored sky. The silhouettes add so much, turning what would have been an ordinary sunrise into an extraordinary work of art. Lucky bird -- he's already caught breakfast! :o) r10++

I love the shot. (you've heard that before)
I would straighten the horizon line.
also I would to have loved to see the whole reflection of the bird.
But again it's still a great picture

P.S. One time I got a comment from an artist and he said "Life is not always centered". Best advise I ever got!

Parts are nothin special - sundown, water, bird,.. But gathered together in artist's mind and eye all that Hve became real masterpiece!

Sunday, January 07, 2007 9:22:35 PM
Good silhouette against the painted sky. Florida has sunshine...we have yuk!
Sunday, January 07, 2007 9:29:30 PM
I almost missed the bird because I didn't realize I hadn't scrolled down all the way. The bird and the foreground grass silhouettes make this shot. The sun is secondary. I love the clarity of the bird and tall grass.

wonderfully done...great color and feel.
Saturday, January 26, 2008 11:44:20 PM
Yep, that horizon is tilted about 2mm...shame on you, lol!
This image is deserving of recognition. There is interesting subject matter, beautiful colors, the DOF in the reflection is awesome, and there is emotion in those silhouettes...AND it's thoughtfully composed to boot - definitely not your average sunset shot. Great image, Maureen!
PS -Is that FISH in the bird's mouth?!
Friday, December 07, 2007 3:20:10 PM
actually not really so tilted, maybe one grade
takes nothing away to the beautiful image
but yes... there are not clouds in the sky :-)
Let's stay this pic in the HOF, well deserved place!

Hmmm...that might be a fish in the bird's mouth, but there is definitely a foot in mine, LOL - I KNOW your name, lol!! So sorry I called you Maureen...I guess your image just distracted me, lol! Sorry about that... :-D
Friday, December 07, 2007 6:12:00 PM
OMG! hehehehhehe. Actually this horizon is tilted, water never lies. Its so tilted in fact, we should blame you Scarlet for the water shortages all over the world.
This horizon being crooked on one side is of no concequence to this image. Its barely noticable and an insignificant part of the image.
Thats a very nice image very worthy of good ratings. You've out done me in my own field. Stop it.
Friday, December 07, 2007 6:14:11 PM
Saw this on the home page. Beautiful shot although the horizon is tilted pretty badly. If you would like to correct this, it can easily be done with a free program called 'Picasa'. The image would then fit with the rating. Gorgeous shot, nonetheless.
